EMBRY RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY
About This Chapter
Founded in 2005 with the ERAU Women's Baja team, Embry Riddles chapter began as a community of like-minded women who share a passion for engineering, mechanics, and all things automotive.
With the addition of ERAU Motorsports in 2007, the chapter expanded its focus to Formula SAE as well, first in the hybrid section and then in Internal combustion. The collaboration between the two teams has allowed for even more opportunities for members to gain hands-on experience and develop their skills in the field. The chapter remains committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all members to pursue their passions and achieve their goals.
COLLEGIATE DESIGN SERIES TEAMS
Baja
The Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Women's Baja SAE Team is a women-led co-ed collegiate design team that strives to be competitive in competitions and provide hands-on engineering education to its members. We are called Women's Baja not to discourage men, but to encourage women to engage in their interests in the automotive field in a place for and led by them.
ERAU Womens Baja was Founded as an all-women's team in the Fall of 2005 and was originally known as the Lady Eagles. Each new vehicle from ERAU Womens Baja is named after a woman in STEM and is themed for her work. Examples include Rosie (2007) after Rosie the Riveter and Svetlana (2016) after Svetlana Savitskaya.
